How to add IP Cameras to the Software

How do I add IP Cameras to the security software?

It is lots of fun to view IP Cameras over the internet. There's hundreds of cameras that you may be able to access, just search for them on google by entering the address after the "IP Address" on the examples below. You can add them to the DVR Software and record what is happening...so that you do not have to stare at them till the cams refresh. Some people may not like you to access their cameras.

Surfing for open IP Cams is lots of fun. Most IP Cams have as a default user "admin" and as a password "admin" and there's lots of open IP Cams that do not have the password changed...so it's even more fun to find these IP Cams!

Please see the examples below for different IP cameras; note that "IP ADDRESS" on the examples below is the IP address of the camera or server.

To download the 30-day free-trial software CLICK HERE. You'll need Windows 2000 or XP. It takes about 2 minutes to download the software using a broadband internet connection. Once you download the fully-functional software email us and we will provide you access to our video server so that you can start using the software with our cameras. If you have your own IP addressable cameras, we can assist you in adding your cameras to the software. Our email is sales@svideo.com

Our security software will work with certain video servers, such as our Express1, Express6 and some mpeg-4 video servers. If you have a doubt, contact us, we may be able to get into your camera. In addition, the software works with our NetCams and many other IP Cameras, such as Axis, Mobotix, D-Link, Panasonic, etc.

If you have IP cameras from other companies you will find that their software for recording and viewing images is basically useless. We do not provide technical support for IP Cameras that are not purchased from us, however, if you have your own IP Cameras you will certainly want to consider our software as a real "value-added" solution.

To add an IP camera to the DVR Software select "Add Web Image" from the "Add" menu.

Here's a partial list of IP Cameras that can be added:

------------------------------------------------------ MOBOTIX IP CAMERAS ------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------ D-LINK IP CAMERAS ------------------------------------------------------

http://IP ADDRESS/image.jpg

------------------------------------------------------ TOSHIBA IP CAMERAS ------------------------------------------------------

HTTP://IP ADDRESS/__live.jpg?&&& (or it might be /__live.jpg?&&) Note, Toshiba IP Cameras appear to have a latency issue when more than one user is accessing the cameras.

For instance: 192.68.1.50/__live.jpg?&&

To add support for the Toshiba, right-click on All Views (on the software) and add a Group. Next, right-click the Group and select Add Camera -> Toshiba.

Change the default IP of 127.0.0.1 to your Toshiba's IP (leave the rest of URL intact). If your Toshiba is programmed to use a port other than 80, add that after the IP (i.e. :81). If your Toshiba is password protected, enter the username and password

Linksys IP Cameras only have an mpeg stream and our software does not work with them. It was very stupid of Linksys to only provide mpeg streams...if you have hacked them, let us know...

If you have a different IP Camera you can contact us and we can find out if it will work with our security software, just send us an email.
