Our VGA to DVI or HDMI Scaler takes the analog VGA signal from your computer via the "VGA - Monitor-out" connector (also known as an HD15 connector) and converts it to a Digital signal for input into monitors that accept a Digital signal through a DVI-D or HDMI connector. DVI-D is the connector type for the "digital" signal input via a DVI receptacle. The DVI-D connector does not have the four pins surrounding the wider (single) horizontal pin on the DVI connector. In addition, this Scaler can accept Component Analog Video signal and converts it to DVI-D or HDMI. Component Analog Video is known as YPbPr or YPcPr and is common on many DVD players and X-Box (with extra cables). To input componet analog video into the Scaler you will need the optional HD15 to 3 RCA cable to connect to the VGA input on the Scaler. This is a must have box if you want to have all your equipment on a digital signal. Applications: - Connect the VGA-Monitor-Out from your laptop or desktop to this Scaler and then to your monitor that has a DVI-D input. You will need the optional DVI-D Cables below. - Connect the VGA-Monitor-Out from your laptop or deskop to this Scaler and then to your monitor that has an HDMI input. You will need the optional DVI to HDMI cables below. - Connect the VGA-Monitor-Out from your laptop or desktop to this converter and then to a DVI selector or HDMI selector. You will need the corresponding optional cables.
