Our Dual Video and Hi-Fi Audio Balun (500012) can be used to send one or two composite video signals either direction and one or two audio signals in either direction. You can use two of the audio connectors for sending stereo audio one way. It was desinged to work with our "Audio/Video Distribution Hub" and can also be used in pairs to transmit audio/video over long distances. It is similar to the 500003 (discontinued) in looks and performance but was designed to work with the new distribution Hub. The only difference is the pin-out on the RJ45 connector since the Hub requires a "straight pin-out" on the Cat 5 - that way you can buy Cat 5 with the RJ45 connectors attached or crimp your own RJ45 to the Cat 5. You can also route the twisted pair cable through a patch panel first; as long as the total distance is within specification, the connection will work fine. The 500003 (discontinued) can also be used with the distribution hub but the RJ45 pin-out has to be modified. Email us if you plan on using the 500003 with the distribution hub. The "S-Video to 2 RCA" cable harness below can be used to transmit S-Video with this balun. Our part 500012 is also known as IC442A-R2.
