This HDMI to 2 DVI-D Splitter takes an HDMI signal and passively splits it to two DVI-D signals. You could also consider using this adapter as a passive switch between two DVI-D sources going to 1 HDMI display, however, you can't have both DVI-D sources at the same time. The HDMI connector on this adapter is "male" and the DVI-D connectors are "female". DVI-D is the "digital" DVI signal (as opposed to the analog) and does not include the sound.
